The Rocket Log

A running record of every rocket we've had to go looking for.

DateWhat happened
Oct 26, 2026 Weekly check — THREE launches in three days! Long March 6A on Oct 23 (672nd flight, Yaogan-50 03, plus a glowing space jellyfish over northern China), Long March 4B on Oct 24 (673rd, six Yaogan satellites), and Long March 8A on Oct 25 (674th, nine GuoWang internet satellites) — with two Philippine debris drop zones, one just 42 NM from the Tubbataha Reefs. Drop zones were identified and nothing is unaccounted for, so no ROCKET WATCH and no daily watch. Page updated.
Oct 20, 2026 The Rocket Log is born. Weekly rocket checks begin. If a rocket ever goes up and nobody knows where it's coming down, this page switches to daily updates until somebody finds it.
Oct 10, 2026 Long March 12 launches the 27th batch of internet satellites from Wenchang, Hainan — the 671st Long March flight. Debris zones announced near Palawan and the Tubbataha Reefs; the Philippine Navy watches a bright red trail over Palawan and hears five booms. Site updated Oct 11.
Jul 30, 2022 Long March 5B (CZ-5B, #53240) core stage re-enters over the Indian Ocean, per USSPACECOM. Nobody knew exactly where it would come down until it did. The one that started it all.
